THERE IS A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT | 2010

The Arabic, 'Hunaka doo la yantafy,' translates as 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out.'

The text is an appropriation of the title of the 1986 hit song by seminal British band, The Smiths. Translated, cast in neon, and exhibited in public, the anthemic lyrics are transformed from their musical origins to conjure cultural and site-specific associations.
